From the factory, the 2003-2004 “Terminator” Mustang SVT Cobra was an absolute work of art by Ford with the exception of one issue. The 4.6L DOHC heads used in the Terminators (and other vehicles as well) have a cooling defect that was later recognized and corrected by Ford several years after its production with a revised head. The coolant does not have an escape route out of the rear of the head which aids the development of steam pockets forming in the rear cylinders of the head. This specifically takes place in the #7 and #8 cylinders. Under normal operating temps on an unmolested cobra, the heads will suffice however when modifications are added it becomes more and more likely that these “hot spots” will develop due to inadequate cooling and as a result, the motor will develop a “TICKING” noise. The revised head from Ford is extremely expensive and was not released until most warranties were already expired.

With our custom head cooling mod, the coolant passage out of the rear of the driver’s side head will be complete thus allowing adequate cooling of the rear cylinders. This simple insurance mod will greatly reducing the chance of harming the head due to a heating issue.

This should have been done from the factory to begin with, but it wasn’t and so we must improvise. Why risk harming your car? If you have any modifications on your car and haven’t considered necessary cooling modifications, this is the perfect mod. for you! It will pay for itself many times over.

We offer this kit in two different styles, both accomplish the same goal of adequate cooling of the driver’s side head. It comes down to a matter of personal preference. Many will say one is better than the other, many will disagree. We offer them both to suite both sides. One style will require the removal of the transmission; the other will require the removal of the blower to make for a more easy installation. Both of which probably already come off numerous times for blower upgrades or clutch upgrades!

Quality is the number one advantage these kits have to every other kit on the market. You should consider one of our two cooling modifications over others for the following reasons:

  • -Each fitting is hand machined out of Billet Aluminum & NPT Threaded

  • -All fittings have the same thermal expansion rating as the heads

  • -All fittings are o-ring sealed

  • -Nothing is glued or permanent

  • -Utilizes high quality SS braided hose & AN fittings

  • -No welds, weak points, or corrosion points

  • -Any component is easily replaceable

  • -Entire kit is modular and easily field serviceable!

Style 1:  $199.95
Requires removal of the transmission.

This Modification installs at the rear of the motor, tapping into the freeze plug on each head to complete the flow path at the rear of the driver’s side head.
You will not see or notice the mod after installation is complete.

Style 2:  $165.00
Requires removal of the blower.

This Modification branches off the upper radiator hose, runs along the passenger side of the blower and installs as the back of the motor.
The mod is visible after installation however the SS Braided hose is atheistically pleasing under the hood.

why is my shifter noisy?

Many people ask what causes their shifter to be noisy.

Actually it isn't the shifter that is noisy.  What you hear is transmission gear noise being transmitted through the shifter (especially billet shifters) into the cabin.

The thin, irregular bead of silicon sealer normally used on the bottom of the shifter base doesn't do well as a noise isolator.  The only real noise isolator is the thick rubber gasket on the shifter handle.  It isolates some of the gear noise from the transmission, but not near enough.

There IS an inexpensive and simple solution.  Buy One Of My Shifter Gasket Sets!

By adding my Shifter Gasket Set you can reduce this gear noise and enjoy a quieter shifter.  My shifter gaskets can be used on both stock and aftermarket shifters.
